ACCA Accounting - Fundamental Knowledge

 

What is this course?


The ACCA qualification provides the accounting knowledge, skills and professional values for students who want a career in accountancy or finance. This course teaches students transferable skills that can be used across many professional sectors. This means that you can pursue a career in many disciplines if you study for the ACCA qualification. Fundamental Knowledge is the first level of this qualification
The ACCA Qualifiation maintains standards set by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC). This course focuses on developing professional and ethical employees for the working life. This qualification is a global brand.
What will I study on this course?
The Fundamental Knowledge level has three papers:

  • F1 Accounting in Business (AB)

  • F2 Management Accounting (MA)

  • F3 Financial Accounting (FA)

Who is this course for?

This course is for students who have an advanced level of English and are looking to gain a UK qualification in Higher Education. This programme is aimed at students looking to study professional accountancy or for a finance qualification or who want to study long term in the UK. This course is also suited to students who would like a professional career and would like to gain a formal qualification.

What will I study after the fundamental level?

Students can now go to the workplace with this qualification. However, if you would like to continue studying, there are two more levels after the certificate:

  • Fundamental Skills

  • Professional Core

How will I be taught?

Avalon teaches this course over 15 hours per week. Class sizes never exceed 20 students and are normally 10-15. You will have a lot of personal support from your teachers. Lessons will be given as lectures and seminars. The course lasts one academic year.

How will I be assessed?

Students will be assessed through module examinations. The exams will be carried out in external test centres. Avalon will advise you on how to register for the exams.

What are the entrance requirements?

You must be at least sixteen years old and must have a level of English equivalent to at least 6.0 on the IELTS test.

When can I join the course?

You can begin this course all year round at Avalon School. There are three official start dates each year. If you would like to join between these dates, you will be placed on a ‘top-up’ English or study skills course until the next module starts. A charge may be incurred for this option.
