This month we were inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate, the agency approved by the UK Border Agency to carry out Educational Oversight inspections of Private Further Education Colleges and English Language Schools in England and Wales.

We exceeded all expectations and were awarded the highest grade for the leadership and management of the school. For the quality of the curriculum and teaching and learners’ achievement, the inspectors judged Avalon to be excellent.

If you want extra tuition, come and join our Saturday classes from 10.30 until 1.30.

We have two levels running, pre-intermediate and upper-intermediate and the classes are a combination of Quantum Speaking and Skills.

Each class costs £25.00.

Notting Hill Carnival is Europe’s biggest street party held on Sunday 26th August and Monday 27th August. Thousands of people gather in this west London area from 9am when the carnival procession starts. The entertainment includes live music, street bands, DJs, giant sound sytems and is a great opportunity to taste some amazing Caribbean food.

There are a number of events happening in London throughout August including the Olympics Closing Ceremony, the Great British Beer Festival and Carnaval del Pueblo, celebrating all things Latin American. From 1st may the UKBA has introduced a priority visa service in the Philippines, Korea and Taiwan, available to customers who pay an additional fee to have their application processed more quickly.

From 21 April 2012, The Globe theatre will be presenting multi-lingual Shakespeare productions. 37 international companies will present every one of Shakespeare’s plays in a different language over six weeks including China, Brazil, Germany and South Korea.
