Living with a British family is
the most effective way of improving language skills.
Speaking to a native English speaker will
help you to develop confidence and we believe that this is an essential
part of language training. The one thing that all our families have in
common is that they are dedicated to providing a home away from home for
our students, which is very important.
Avalon can arrange for you to stay with an English family while you are
studying in London.
This is arranged through Britannia Student Services.
All our families are in zone 1, 2 or 3 (zone 4 in busy times), within
40 minutes travelling time of Avalon.
The three types of home stay that we can arrange are:
Single or double/twin room Self catering - No meals but use of the kitchen.
Single or double/twin room Bed and Breakfast – Breakfast only and no use
of kitchen
Single or double/twin room Half Board – Breakfast and Evening meal.
How to Arrange your Accommodation
1. Online. You can book your accommodation through our website. You can only book accommodation when you have enrolled on a course. Choose "Enrolment and payment" and select the course and accommodation that you want.
2. Through your agent.
3. By fax. Fax an accommodation request form to the school on +44 (0)
20 7836 3376.

Please note:
You should allow at least two weeks notice to find your accommodation and four weeks from June to August.
Problem Solving
If you are not happy with the accommodation when you first arrive, please don’t worry. It is usually possible to arrange something else for you. We suggest you stay in your accommodation until you can speak to our accommodation officer on the next working day.
Terms and Conditions
1. You must pay your homestay accommodation
fee in full before a booking can be made.
2. Accommodation runs from 1200pm to 1200pm.
3. You must give at least two weeks` notice if you want to change or cancel
your accommodation
4. In the event of a cancellation without 2 weeks notice, the first 2
weeks accommodation fees are not refundable.
5. You may not bring visitors back to your home without the consent of
your host.
6. You may not smoke in the house without the consent of your host.
7. The cost of laundry and the use of the telephone are not included in
your accommodation fee. For information on these services please ask your
host.
