The Cambridge Certificate Examinations test 5 skills (reading, writing, use of English, listening and speaking) and the qualifications available are as follows:
- FCE Foundation (PET)
- First Certificate (FCE)
- Advanced (CAE)
- Proficiency (CPE)
The course at Avalon is intensive. During the course you will:
- Practise the same
types of question that you will see in the exam.
- Practise the
vocabulary and grammar the Cambridge examiners will test.
- Plan and write
a minimum of 12 compositions.
- Practise a minimum
of 6 past Cambridge exam papers.
- Take a mock Cambridge
Exam style interview a few days before your exam date.
Students at Avalon generally pass the Cambridge exams and many receive grades A and B.

FCE Foundation (PET) 1 lesson per day for 10 weeks prior to the PET examination in March, June and December
FCE 2 lessons per day for 12 weeks prior to the examination in March, June and December
CAE 3 lessons per day for 14 weeks prior to the examination in June and December
