About The Cambridge Certificates

The Cambridge University English qualifications are recognised by employers and universities all over the world.
The Cambridge Certificate Examinations test 5 skills (reading, writing, use of English, listening and speaking) and the qualifications available are as follows:

  • FCE Foundation (PET)
  • First Certificate (FCE)
  • Advanced (CAE)
  • Proficiency (CPE)
    The course at Avalon is intensive. During the course you will:

  • Practise the same types of question that you will see in the exam.
  • Practise the vocabulary and grammar the Cambridge examiners will test.
  • Plan and write a minimum of 12 compositions.
  • Practise a minimum of 6 past Cambridge exam papers.
  • Take a mock Cambridge Exam style interview a few days before your exam date.

    Students at Avalon generally pass the Cambridge exams and many receive grades A and B.

    Timetable

    FCE Foundation (PET) 1 lesson per day for 10 weeks prior to the PET examination in March, June and December

    FCE 2 lessons per day for 12 weeks prior to the examination in March, June and December

    CAE 3 lessons per day for 14 weeks prior to the examination in June and December
