The Olympic Torch is coming to London
The start of the London Olympics is fast approaching. On 27 July the Olympic torch will arrive at the Olympic stadium in East London having travelled through more than a thousand cities, towns and villages across the UK in the 70 days since its arrival from Greece. It will be in various locations in and around London from Saturday 21 July until the Opening Ceremony on Friday 27 July when it will be passed through the athletes to the final torchbearer, who will ceremoniously light the cauldron, indicating the beginning of the Games. The flame will continue to burn for the whole of the Games.
You can see more information about the torch route, the opening ceremony and the schedule of events on the London 2012 website.
