This is a practical, hands-on training course which promotes ongoing reflection with continuous group and individual feedback from tutors. Training is divided along the following lines: Input, Observation, Practice, Feedback.
• To raise awareness of participant’s knowledge of key debates and approaches within English Language Teaching (ELT).
• To improve participants’ own phonological awareness and to enable them to develop new teaching techniques and activities to improve their students’ pronunciation, fluency, and listening comprehension.
• To give participants the opportunity to meet professionals in their field and to work collaboratively with them in sharing best practice.
On the course you will have the chance to put everything you have learned into practice through two micro-teaching tasks. At the end of Week 1, you will teach a short lesson to the training group and at the end of Week 2 to a small group of students. Your teacher trainers will offer you the support needed to prepare effectively for these lessons. Following the tasks, they will give you constructive feedback and targets to work on in the future.
